You are cordially invited to join us for this panel presentation, an encore of the group’s discussion at the Washington Historical Society’s Annual Conference last November.  The panel consists of:

Dave Tevelin, moderator and author of Death At The Howard, a murder mystery set during the riots; The Rev. Dr. Sandra Butler-Truesdale, Chair of DC Legendary Musicians, Inc.; American University Professor Derek Hyra, author of Race, Class, and Politics in the Cappuccino CityGreg Gaskins, a guitarist who played at the Howard (and with Elvis Presley and The Manhattans over the course of his long career); and Jimi Smooth, who worked at the Howard, and went on to his own long – and still active – career as an R&B performer who you can see hereThe highlight of the event will be Greg and Jimi playing us out at the end of the panel. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
